Simulation in Motion - An Immersive Training in Nursing Home Care

The Iowa-GWEP has partnered with Simulation in Motion-IA (SIM-IA) to provide free state-of-the-art training opportunities for current and aspiring nursing home staff. The first training will be held November 16-17, 2023, in the Quad Cities. Simulations have been tailored to welcome and benefit all learners, from CNAs in training to practicing nurses. They focus on the three most common diagnoses for transfer to ER/Hospitalization--COPD, sepsis, and congestive heart failure. This training opportunity offers participants a chance to learn best practices for older adult care using hands-on experience in a safe and controlled environment.

This event marks the kickoff of the Golden Wave of Age-Friendly Care, a movement across Iowa to improve patient assessment and communication for those caring for older adults.
