Age-Friendly Lecture Series

The Age-Friendly Lecture series is a collection of video presentations devoted to  Age-Friendly Health Systems (AFHS) and details the 4Ms framework: What Matters, Mentation (delirium, dementia, depression), Medication, and Mobility.

Age-Friendly Health Systems 4M framework bridges evidence-based practices of health care for older adults and the care that health systems put into practice. What Matters emphasizes the need to adjust a patient’s treatment plan or care based on what matters to them. Mobility highlights the need to keep older adults mobile and functional to combat the negative health consequences of immobility. Medication stresses the importance of proper medication management. Mentation focuses on the cognitive aspects such as dementia, delirium, and depression (Fulmer et. al, Age-Friendly Health Systems: The 4Ms).
