Food service workers are important members of the care team in many senior living and nursing care settings, but may lack understanding of how dementia can affect the behavior and needs of persons they are caring for. This program provides a brief overview of the Dementia Friendly movement, then describes how dementia may impact people using food services, and presents approaches that staff may use to help persons living with dementia be as successful as possible.
