The Dementia Friends program is changing the way people think, act, and talk about dementia. It teaches what it's like to live with dementia and how to decrease stigma associated with the disease.

All across the state, 3,800 Iowans have become Dementia Friends by taking the initiative to learn the basics of dementia such as what dementia is, what it’s like to live with the disease, and some tips for communicating with people who have dementia in order to help create a more inclusive community for those living with dementia and their loved ones.
