Family Involvement in Care

Family Involvement in Dementia Care helps family members like you work as a team with health care staff to provide the best possible care for those living with dementia. Videos, family interviews, hand-outs and break-out discussions will teach you how to work as partners with staff in long-term care settings.

The ten-part series covers topics such as communicating with staff, negotiating on behalf of the person living with dementia, asking difficult questions, managing medications, and more. These are designed to help you more comfortably advocate for the needs and preferences of persons living with dementia by focusing on what matters most to THEM. The series was designed to start with the Introduction and move to the right, but you may view topics in the order that most interests you.
